ALL ABOUT TMC'S 2020 FALL MEETING - A Virtual Event

For the first time ever, TMC’s Fall Meeting is going virtual! ATA’s Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) has made the decision to move the Council’s 2020 Fall Meeting to a virtual event format, which will take place online, September 14-17. This year’s theme, “Reliable Answers for Uncertain Times” centers around societal changes accelerated by technology and the ongoing COVID-19 crisis — transforming the ways fleets specify and operate equipment in both intentional and unintended ways.

Unfortunately, the National Technician Skills Competitions (TMCSuperTech) and National Student Technician Competition (TMCFutureTech) will have to be cancelled for 2020.

TMC/ATA did not make this decision lightly, but based on member input regarding the current COVID-19 crisis — and especially given the “ramp-up” that is anticipated as the nation’s economy begins returning to normal operations in the coming months — TMC believes this action is necessary.

While the technician competitions are cancelled for 2020, please note that TMC and ATA do plan to launch the first National Technician Appreciation Week, September 21-25, the week following TMC’s 2020 Fall Meeting. More information on this will be made available in the coming weeks.

“Coming to the Fall Meeting and TMC meetings in general, really keeps you on the cutting edge of what’s new in the industry. You can catch up on new recommended practices put out by TMC and it’s really helpful to myself and all my other colleagues.”

Craig Biehl, Area Sales Manager, Dorman Products

WHAT ATTENDEES SAY

STAY CONNECTED I #20TMCFALL

“TMC allows like-minded individuals who have the industries’ best interest at heart to freely discuss standards and best practices without the hindrance of corporate politics or solicitation. My favorite part of every TMC meeting is the dialogue. It’s amazing that so many competitors, partners, fleets, and associates can come together while looking past any potential conflicts or differences for the betterment of the future of our industry. People putting aside corporate agendas to impact common goals and best practices are truly commendable.”

Bobby Knight, Director of Strategic Partnerships, IoT,
The Morey Corporation

WHAT ATTENDEES SAY

“Sitting through one meeting quickly made me realize how this is a tightly knit industry, much like a family. Having a chance to participate in developing Recommended Practices (RPs) is very exciting especially since I utilize the RPs myself. TMC is also about connecting with like-minded people and developing relationships that will hopefully last a lifetime. I’m open to helping in other areas and looking for where I can be most useful.”

Gary Miller, Volvo’s Fleet Service Manager

ATA’s Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) will be holding the first-ever National Technician Appreciation Week (NTAW) the week of September 21-25, 2020. Given the unavoidable cancellation of TMCSuperTech 2020 / TMCFutureTech 2020 competitions due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, TMC’s Professional Technician Development Committee (PTDC) launched this new program to continue recognizing our industry’s commercial vehicle technicians’ dedication and professionalism. With your help, TMC can continue to showcase our commercial vehicle technicians and attract new technicians to our industry.
